Electronic ballots are gradually becoming such a thoroughly tried and tested part of life that they are slowly but surely gaining acceptance as a secure solution in a number of different situations.

 

A completely electronic ballot

When Energi Hillerød held an election to its Board of Directors in March, the whole process was conducted electronically.  It was possible to vote either via the internet or by telephone, and the system automatically ensured that it was not possible to vote more than once by using both media.

 

Final result after just 10 minutes

The ballot went off smoothly and the final result was available at  12.10 on the day of the election, i.e. just 10 minutes after voting ended. Thus, the electronic voting form not only ensured a high level of accessibility, but it also helped to minimise administrative work connected to the election.
