EKSPERIMENTARIUM

How do you involve young people?
In an attempt to get 10-16 year olds more involved in an exhibition, Eksperimentarium wanted to use mobile technology in an innovative and creative way - thereby adding a completely new interactive dimension to their visit to the museum.

Interactive museum visit
In collaboration with the University of Southern Denmark, Eksperimentarium developed the Ego-Trap concept offering an exciting glimpse of what museum visits of the future may be like.

Participants register for the activity with their mobile number as soon as they arrive at the museum. Subsequently, they embark on a journey which takes place both in a fictitious plot in the real Eksperimentarium and in an exciting interaction with the participant's mobile phone.

In partnership with Unwire, Telecom Scandinavia have provided a solution that takes every single participant round the various exhibitions using advanced interplay between Bluetooth and IVR. Here, fiction is mixed with real experiments and participants are forced to think about what they are experiencing and draw their own conclusions.

Fun and experimental!
With Ego-Trap, a visit to the museum has gained the extra dimension the organisers were seeking which has made it more fun to learn form the exhibitions - both for children in the 10-16 age group and for adults whose curiosity is still intact. At the same time, the solution is a ground-breaking experiment which, in the true spirit of Eksperimentarium, shows how modern technology can be used in a new and exciting way.
