Difficulties with giro cheques
The Danish Refugee Council regularly conducts nationwide and extraordinary
collections. However, not everyone that wants to donate is organised to such a
degree that they are able to pay with the girocheque they receive.
Drop the girocheque - use the telephone!
For all Danish Refugee Council collections, it is now possible to pay via an IVR
donation line from Telecom Scandinavia. Each call costs DKK 150. At the same
time, the Danish Refugee Council also asks donors if they would like to receive
their members' bulletin. If they are using the IVR system they can record their
name and address.

Positive impact on the overall amount collected
Donation via IVR and text messaging has made it easier to donate money during
collections and, naturally, this has had a positive impact on the overall amount
that is collected from time to time.
